I was tagged with...the FIVE LISTS!

5 things on my To Do List:

1. Exercise - Makenna is 5 1/2 months old, and I have yet to get into a regular work out routine!

2. Go Grocery Shopping - I enjoy going shopping, but I hate making a grocery list; is that weird?

3. Write in Makenna's baby book. You would think since I only have one child I should be able to keep up her baby book, but I am behind already!

4. Write in my Journal. I am so bad about writing, I really need to get into the habit again.

5. Print Photos. I love having a digital camera, but all of my pictures are still on my computer.

5 jobs I have had:

1. Office gal for a small Retail Merchandising company.

2. BYU clogging teacher - this was by far my favorite!

3. BYU operator (being able to do homework while I worked was a great plus).

4. A Scrapbook store (I think I spent more money than I earned).

5. The GAP (they had GREAT discounts for employees).

5 places I've lived: (I only have 3, I guess that is what happens when you are born and raised in the same house.)

1. Omaha, NE

2. Vancouver, WA

3. Provo, UT

5 favorite snacks:

1. Fruit Snacks - I try to tell myself that they are healthy since they are "fruit".

2. Apple with Peanut Butter

3. Fudge bars

4. Cereal

5. Any type of Candy

5 things I would do if I were a billionaire:

1. Buy a house. I can not wait until John and I live somewhere long enough to buy a house.

2. Travel all over - I love to visit new places.

3. Save a bundle for MBA school, kids, retirement, etc.

4. Buy a big family car; maybe a Honda Pilot.

5. Pay someone to do my hair everyday. I know that sounds weird, but I love getting my hair done at the salon, and I wish that someone else did it for me everyday.

5 things you may not know about me:

1. I am extremely ticklish all over.

2. I am addicted to gum. I probably chew at least 5 or 6 pieces a day, and get pretty upset when I run out.

3. I am terrified of spiders. I always make John kill them when I find them. The only way that I can get close enough to them to kill them is if they are on the floor, and I can just throw a shoe on them.

4. I have to have a fan going when I go to sleep; I even pack one with me when I travel.

5. I love to pick at things (just ask John).

5 things I LOVE:

1. John - I couldn't ask for a more thoughtful husband, and he is so funny, and he makes me happy.

2. Makenna - She has been such an angel baby, and we are so blessed to have her as part of our family.

3. Makenna's laugh. John and I decided that Makenna's laugh is our new favorite sound. I would jump around like and idiot all day, just to hear her laugh.

4. Dance - I hope that dance will always be a part of my life in one way or another.

5. My family - I love having a sister that I can talk to everyday about anything, and I love living closer to both sides of the family.

I tag Amanda, Josie, Angie, and Hilary.

So Big!

Makenna is getting to be SO big. We took her to the doctor for her 4 month visit last week, and she is in the 99th percentile for weight (I think technically she is off the chart), and in the 97th percentile for height. We think she is as big as her cousin Kate, who is 3 1/2 months older than Makenna! I've decided that it might be because I eat too much ice cream. Either that, or John is feeding Makenna ice cream when I am not looking!

She is also in the stage where she seems to be doing something new everyday, which is so much fun.

Here are some of her latest accomplishements:

Sitting up by herself, although she usually starts to tip over after a few seconds.

Playing in her "Activity Zone"

Trying to roll over; she can get about half way.

Eating cereal (I love that face!)

Discovering her toes.

The Grandparents

Makenna recently had a visit from her Grandma CeCe and Grandpa Jim (or Grand - Da); John's Parents. They passed through Omaha on their way to and from Wisconsin. Makenna really enjoyed their love and attention. As soon as Grandma CeCe started talking to her, she started laughing; it was so cute!

Makenna is also lucky to live in Omaha now, and to be able to see her Grandma and Grandpa Bailey on a more regular basis.

First Easter

Makenna's first Easter was spent at her Grandma and Grandpa Bailey's house with her aunts, uncles, and cousins. It was pretty chaotic with all of the kids running around, but Makenna didn't seem to mind. In fact, she was so mesmerized by everything, that she forgot about eating or sleeping while we were there.

Makenna's Easter EggsSo, a funny story about Makenna's easter eggs:

All of the Dads were responsible for hiding eggs in the basement for their kids while the moms and kids waited upstairs. Each child had a different color egg to find. Makenna's eggs were light pink, so I asked John to point one out to me so I wouldn't confuse her eggs with the dark pink eggs which were assigned to a different child. John pointed to a PILE of pink eggs on the pool table. When I asked him why he didn't hide her eggs he told me that it would've been pointless since she was only 4 months old. Of course I realized this, but I had hoped to experience some of the easter egg hunting joy of my childhood. Aren't you suppose to live through your children?? I guess I'll just have to wait until next year!

4 Months old!

I can't believe that Makenna is already 4 months old. She is growing and changing everyday. She now reaches for and tries to grab anything that is in front of her, and then usually tries to put whatever it is in her mouth. She is smiling and laughing a lot, and she LOVES to be the center of attention. It has been so fun to watch her grow and learn new things. Her latest trick is shrieking. She lets out these ear-piercing yells when she gets really excited, and when she wants you to pay attention to her. John seems especially sensitive to these "girly" shrieks (as he calls them) and he tries to tell her that they are unnecessary, but I think they are fun and I secretly enjoy them. John and I enjoy Makenna so much, and are so grateful to have such a cute, chubby, and happy baby.

Scary Daddy

Last night before giving Makenna a bath, I mentioned to John that he should come and see her while in the tub, because she is starting to do some fun things that she didn't before (splash, try to drink the water, etc). Well apparently Makenna is not used to seeing John while she is getting her bath, because when he came in and started talking to her, she looked at him for a few seconds and then started to cry! I guess mom will have to continue to give Makenna her baths for awhile.

After her bath, John tried to win her over again by playing "airplane" with her. I don't think this is Makenna's favorite game (at least not yet) but it does seem to be John's favorite.

Momnesia??

I think that I am suffering from momnesia. However, when I say "I," I mean "Makenna," because she is the one who suffers the most. Yesterday, I was changing Makenna's diaper at 10:30 pm, and it was so wet that she had leaked up her back. It wasn't until I pondered why she had such a wet diaper, that I realized that I hadn't changed her since about 11:00 am! I had gotten so used to just waiting until she pooped to change her (which usually happens at least 5 times a day) that I forgot to change her all day when she didn't poop. The poor baby had the wettest diaper I have ever seen!!
